3 Simple Cake Recipes

I have to bake cakes each month in Women's Chorus for the birthdays of that month! These are simple cake recipes that are really quite yummy! They are really yummy in cupcake form as well. :)


Almond Poppy Seed Cake

1 yellow cake mix

2 Tablespoons flour

1 Large, plus 1 small package Instant Vanilla Pudding

1 Cup water

½ Cup vegetable oil

4 eggs, beaten in one at a time

1 Tablespoon almond extract

2 tablespoons poppy seeds

Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Let cool in pan for 5-10 minutes, then shake a bit loose and place cooling rack on top and invert the cakes onto the cooling rack to cool.

Luscious Lemon Cake

1 yellow cake mix

1 small box lemon instant pudding

1 teaspoon lemon extract

¾ Cup water

½ Cup vegetable oil

¼ Cup applesauce

4 eggs

In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, pudding mix, lemon extract, water oil, and applesauce. Beat until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat on high 8 minutes. Pour batter into greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Death-By-Chocolate Cake

¾ Cup cour cream

4 eggs

½ cup water

½ cup vegetable oil

1 chocolate cake mix

1 small box instant chocolate pudding

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Beat sour cream, eggs, water and oil together in a large bowl until thoroughly mixed. Add cake mix and pudding mix. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
